The Chinese marginal seas are some of the largest marginal seas in the world, which include the South China Sea (SCS), East China Sea (ECS), Yellow Sea (YS), and Bohai Sea (BS). This paper investigates the internal tidal energy distribution in the southwestern Japan/East Sea using vertical round-trip travel time (τ) data from 23 pressure-sensor-equipped inverted echo sounders (PIES).The τ records are analyzed by bandpass filtering to separate time-dependent variability of the semidiurnal and diurnal bands. The semidiurnal internal tides Cited by:

It is historically divided into physical, biological, chemical, and geological oceanography. Descriptive physical oceanography approaches the ocean through both observations and complex numerical model output used to describe the fluid motions as quantitatively as.
The study of the complex interactions between continents and oceans has become a leading area for 21st century earth cience.
